If you look up the word “NAVTE” in Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani’s dictionary 18th century, you will find out that it’s explained as “boat-man’s intermediary” that could be compared with its content to today’s forwarder company’s activity. That’s why during the establishment of our association (26thof June, 1997) e-mail address – afg@afg-navte.ge was chosen.

So, the first signs of forwarding activity existed in 18th century in Georgia that is today’s one of the main economic sector’s.

AFG presents public, non-governmental, non-enterprise (non-commercial) juridical person, which do not aims entrepreneurial activity, but can support commercial activities, and as a result the profit is not distributed among the members of the AFG and is used only for the functioning of the Secretariat AFG. It owns property, has an independent balance, an account in national and foreign currency, and has the right to be defendant and plaintiff in a court.
